THERAPY WITH DR .SCOTT

In our first session together, here’s what you can expect

In our first session we will start building that therapeutic alliance that has the person getting to know their therapist and the therapist getting to know the person. I make the sessions nonjudgmental, safe, nurturing, and comfortable for the person so that they have a safe place to talk about any and everything.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe my sincere, genuine, sincerity, caring qualities, traits, character, reassures the person is in a safe environment to be their self .

The clients I’m best positioned to serve

Once again. i enjoy helping adults work through their childhood traumas that still have a hold on them today. We think we can manage those childhood traumas and relationship traumas, etc. but we do not. They are still with us in your adult years and affect our relations, friendships, ect. We try to bury the hurt, neglect, abuse, sexual abuse that happened so long ago but it subconsciously affects you in your adult hood in so many negative ways.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Throughout our lives we all have unique experiences, and these experiences affect the way we think. Depending on the situation your way of thinking will be affected. Those unhealthy thoughts can make you depressed and/or anxious. CBT helps the person to develop healthy ways of thinking, Learning how to have more positive and rational thoughts which in turn leads to alleviations f anxious thoughts and depressive thoughts.

Psychodynamic
Psychodynamic therapy focuses on understanding how a person’s subconscious thoughts and feelings, and memories influence their current behavior.

Interpersonal
Interpersonal therapy (IPT) is evidence-based treatment that focuses on improving interpersonal relationships and social functioning to help reduce psychological distress. Together we will look at your relationship and identify the reason for emotional distress (anxiety, depression, feeling of inadequacy, low self-esteem, low self-worth, and lack of confidence) and dismantle problematic issues and learn new ways of thinking that will improve

Dr. Bernard Scott did a great job with our first session getting into some of the deeper issues at play with our situation. He validated our feelings and reinforced our love for each other and reminded us of the importance of working through our issues in a way that will keep our children feeling safe and secure. We will definitely be rebooking

We Liked how Supportive but Direct he was during our session. He Challenged us in being truthful about how we are feeling about the problems in our relationship.

Dr. Scott offered practical, norIjudgmental tools to help us recognize and frame our triggers, creating space for each of us to feel seen and heard–exactly what my partner and I were looking for, The sessions encouraged real-world use of the 1-18 framework, rooted in the idea that who we are is shaped in our early years. Recognizing the “what” of your partner’s experiences builds empathy. As someone working to break cycles of trauma, this was exactly what I needed.
